I Trust You With My Whole Life ...

The greatest lessons in my life come from the inspiration of three things :

1. My Family

2. My Church

3. My Education - "Let Food Be Thy Medicine and Medicine Be Thy Food."

Everyday my family teaches me new things about how to love and live a life filled with compassion. This often involves being taught amazing truths by a two year old. Like - take time out to watch a cartoon, or the feel of a tiny hand inside mine - that says, "I trust you with my whole life. You are everything to me and more."

My Church/Faith teaches me how to enjoy what my family teaches me. To cherish these lessons and how to be a better person. A place where I am the child of God and can fall into His arms and hear the sweet whisper, "I trust you with my most precious little ones. I love you more than you can comprehend. Trust Me because I have trusted you first."

My Continuing Education is learning about love and compassion and how to trust again - like the trust felt from that small hand. Often this involves the UNLEARNING of things learned in the process of my life-education. This unlearning is often about "Science" - and how blindly following science can take you down a rabbit hole of confusion and unhealth. Is that a word? I often wonder why "health insurance" is not called "unhealth insurance," because if you have health, you don't need to use the insurance. hmmmm did I just fall down another rabbit hole ... let me climb back out ...

No matter what happens in life, I come back to this quote by T.S.Eliot - "We shall not cease from exploration and at the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we began and know the place for the first time."

And then this one by Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Self-Trust is the First Secret of Success." How cool is that? How do we learn self-trust? We have to earn it. Keep your promises to yourself. Be your own hero. Unlearn the sting of the hard lessons.

Never do anything to cause that little hand to lose faith in you. How? Create a memory that will last forever: such as look for pictures in the clouds. Listen and enjoy just being there.

These are the things that make life great. Holding a child's hand. They will never forget it. And you will be someone's hero.
