Float Norfolk - A Healing Experience

Meet Nick - a beat-up Veteran who showed up at the door of The Renova Center in search of healing. He came for hyperbaric oxygen treatments at Hampton Roads Hyperbaric (www.hrhyperbaric.com) after sustaining many injuries as a career frogman - a Master Chief Navy Seal. Nick was told he would never get better and to get his affairs in order but he was a soldier and refused to go quietly into the dark of the night to become another warrior statistic. He struggled to walk into the Center with braces on his legs, and eyes crossed. Life was difficult to maneuver the simplest of tasks. Hyperbaric was his last hope.

After completing his prescribed forty dives - Nick was a new man. No more braces and his eyes became steady again. Pain levels reduced and he could think clearly. Nick set a goal to bring others who suffered from traumatic brain injuries or chronic traumatic encephalopathy. He has been the catalyst for many individuals to heal.

In order to maintain and further his healing process he decided to take advantage of all the healing modalities found at The Renova Center. With each modality, his healing goes further. He is excited to see how far his injuries can reverse. Hope springs eternal.

Now he FLOATS. With each float, he notices less pain, more stability and clarity of mind. He says after a day's experience of floating - he has the best nights sleep. One of the horrible side effects of TBI's and CTE's is the inability to sleep. Floating can change that. Not just during the float can you have the possibility of DEEP, DEEP relaxing sleep, but later that night ... you often sleep like a baby, again. And FLOATING has a cumulative effect. The more you FLOAT, the more benefits you can experience.

Nick is the co-author of a four volume Book series called "The Truth About Suicide." (Volume One "The Recipe and the Antidote" is to be released later this year.) He is also the President of the Veteran Wellness Center of Hampton Roads (located in the Renova Center,) and Director and Head Coach of Fitness Norfolk - a new kind of gym he helped develop and opening in October - where he teaches Neuro-Fusion - a technique he created to combine exercises for balancing the brain with the body.

Nick's excitement for healing is contagious. His advice to others? "Get serious about reversing your injuries: DIVE and FLOAT."

Be Safe, Be Well, Be Happy.
